Bud
was born on May 13, 1953 to Henry Marvin and
Barbara
Ann (Henke) Leck in Okarche, Oklahoma.
He
lived in Calumet, Oklahoma throughout his
childhood,
graduating from Calumet High School.
Upon
his graduation, Bud continued his education
in
Technical Trade School in electronics.
On May
29, 1971 Bud married his soul mate, Susan
McCown.
Together they built a family of three
sons
and one foster daughter.
Bud
worked several jobs to support his beautiful
family,
from train dispatcher with Rock Island
Railroad;
drilling and completion foreman for
Kerr
McGee Corporation and several farming jobs,
as
well as truck driving across country. He also
worked
as ' Town Man ' in Silver Cliff, Colorado.
He
retired from that job in 1990 due to
disability
from Huntington's Disease.
Bud
first started showing *signs* of HD in late
1983,
and was diagnosed in March of 1990. During
his
16 year battle with the dragon we call HD, he
never
lost his faith, his belief in God, or his
deep
love for his family. He fought with dignity
and
courage, and was an inspiration to everyone
who
knew him. He fought the dragon valiantly,
and
on November 28,1999, he quietly slipped away
to
join with the HD Angles watching over us.
