My only child, Kelly E.Miller, was struck down with the inherited degenerative brain disease, Huntington's, at age 15. She gave up her battle November 15, 1998 at the age of 30. She was, and is, my most
precious gift in this life and will be terribly missed until we can be together again, in God's loving hands.
      During those fifteen years she fought Huntington's, Kelly taught:
(1.) "forgiveness"- towards those who demonstrated hostility against her because she was different;
(2.) the joy of "laughter"- even in the face of impossible adversities;
(3.) "humility" - in knowing that there are some things in life over which we have no control;
(4.) "faith"- in seeing her acceptance and ability to cope even after the total loss of her body control and speech;
(5.) "compassion" towards all things living and ;
(6.) "unending love"-which shone in her eyes every waking moment every day of her life.

Although Kelly had a most profound impact on my life, others have credited her with teaching them the true meaning of life in living each moment to it's fullest and honoring the love of family and friends.

The National Huntington's Disease Society honored Kelly's courageous battle by establishing a special fund in her name to fight Juvenile Huntington's  Disease:

              The Kelly E. Miller Juvenile Huntington's Disease Fund

In February of 1999 they kicked off their fund raising Year 2000 Campaign, "We Are Family", based on the testimonials they received about Kelly.
