Sleepless

Looking out into the night
A sleepless soul searches for light
To sadly find the stars and moon
Have passed behind the clouds too soon
With morning many hours away
Don't think the sky will light the way
When in your heart the embers glow
Brighter than fresh fallen snow
This burning desire to make everything right
Is guilty of keeping you awake at night
So place a candle in the window
And next to it a dish to stow
A penny for all the thoughts that stay
A nickel for pain that won't go away
A dime for future woes unknown
A quarter for woes the world has shown
A dollar for each sincere concern
And when you're done you just might learn
To let the candle light the way
For all your cares 'til the light of day
Or maybe you'll find you're a lot like me
And you can't afford this much worry!
 - It must be time for bed
